AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
that's me currently screaming!!!!!!
I've just spent the last hour and a half puting together a post and what did I just do on accident? DELETED THE WHOLE EFFING THING!!!!!!!!!! Talk about frustrating. So please forgive me if this now current post isnt as witty as it once was and if it just plain sucks. Im pissed at myself right now. lkjasdf;kjasgoijsfdglkjsljklsdflkjsdfjlk
Im just so mad at myself I feel like turning my computer off and walking away, but I cant because I've already been puting all this off. My brain now feels empty because I'd already said and gotten everything out that was in my head and now I cant even think of what I put in the original stupid post.
Im gonna try......
There once was an old hall way half table (thats what I call it, because its a hall table and it's a half of one) it looked like this:
The first post I wrote talked about how im cheap and that I dont think its a bad thing and blah blah blah.
When my parents moved a few years ago they got rid of a lot of stuff. And since Zach and I lived in an 1800 sqft house that didnt have much of our own things in it I took almost everything my dear old mama offered up to me. The half table being one of them. At the old house it kind of sat in the corner. Didnt have much of a place for it and I didnt like the way it looked at all. I knew one day Id find time to re do it a bit and finally that day came.
*Side note: Our old house had plenty of stuff in it. It was my grandparents old house and they were the type of people that didnt throw anything away, and bought everything times 10, AND did A LOT of garage saling in their day. You think of it, it was in the house. But us packing up our stuff and moving out and 5 or was it 6 dumpsters later the house is finally empty. And looks amazing after the upgrades my folks have done on it.
I had no clue what color I wanted to paint it, but I found a bunch of these really great knobs at world market I was going to use on redoing a coat rack (which sadly that cant be done) and knew I wanted the new knob on the table to be one of those. It just so happens we had a paint color that matched one of the knobs perfectly. Its the color we are going to paint the half bath in the basement. That hasn't gotten tackled yet because it looks like this:
Its has a lot of angles and a high bit of ceiling. Its also going to need a lot of sanding from the white paint brush strokes and lots of primer. We dont use this bathroom much so I havent felt like wasting my time on painting it yet. Either way we had paint that I decided to use on the table. It turned out like this:
The cool thing is, with the execption of the 4 small wooden cylinder things (those are from my sisters rehersal dinner a few years back) all that stuff is from my grandparents collection of things I found in the house. Ignore all the random stuff in the hall in these pictures. The hall is currently being used as semi storage for things from the office while we fix that beast up!
Theres a lot of blue going on in this post and theres about to be more to come! If only I had a reason to throw in a picture of the blue squares from the "office" we are about to paint over. Oh what the hell...
but im not talking about that room right now, so I'm moving on.
I been drooling over the master bedrooms in a lot of the blogs I follow. Knowing I cant compete with them, I knew I had to try a little to fix up our masters chambers. Our room comes off kind of dark so I knew I wanted some lighter fabrics in there. I found this pretty sweet duvet on sale at Target so I scooped that bad boy up, and its been sitting in a closet for over a month. I had no clue the direction I was going to go in there. Until one day when I saw a commercial. And in the commercial was a lamp. The lamp. I had to have this lamp.
It took me awile to find it but I finally did. I had a little bit of buyers remorse for a week or 2 (I've never spent 60 bucks on a lamp, ugh just thinking about it makes me want to return it again, kind of.) I originally bought the lamp with no clue where it was going to live. Right before returning it a light bulb in my head turned on, "Put it in our bedroom and make our room mostly white with navy accents!" DING DING DING we have a winner folks :-)
I spent all day Saturday this past weekend looking for navy accents and sheets and blankets and came home with tons of stuff. I spent a few hours sunday making pillows for the bed because it was soo much cheaper than buying some. My mom sewed em up for me because I have no clue how to work a sewing machine
*side note: we made the pillows out of diffrent types of napkins and felt.
and here is the results of what I've got going on in there so far :-)
Theres still much to do. That side table is going to be the next thing swapped out. Im gonna keep it and put it somewhere else in the house, but it just doesn't go in there. I think I've also decided to keep the walls that light yellow. One day that chair will be recovered, but until then we are using this slip cover. That chair is way too comfy not to make use of it!
So our house has a definate blue thing going on at the moment!
I think I'm done. I feel like I had so much more to say in my first attempt at this post, but whats done is done and theres nothing I can do about it now. Hopefully my next post wont have so much anger behind it :-)

Dancing in the rain
Lets face it. Georgia weather is more unpredictable than a cat. Just when I was really starting to enjoy this early spring weather, it not only turns "cold" (after almost a month of 70-80's temps, 40-50 degrees feels fa-reezing!) its has been so gloomy and rainy and blaaah. Now with the business I work in, spring and summer storms can mean busy busy for me at my job, but it doesnt mean I don't love and miss that sunshine when its gone.
But im not gonna let "cold" wet weather change my plans or my mind set. I've been so focused lately. And not just on one thing, on a lot of things, which has turned out to be a stressful pain in my ass! The hubs tells me I get obsessive about things. Well I am starting to see it and accept that now. I'm very much so the type of person that wants something done, I want it done NOW. Call it a flaw if you will, I call it getting shit done! But unfortunetly I usually can't stay focused long enough to completely finish what im "wanting done now" I get it half way there and forget about it for 3 months. UUUUGGGGHHH. I annoy even myself sometimes!
I've been pre occupied lately and havent felt much like blogging, I kind of haven't been able to really find the time to blog. I honestly don't think I've felt like blogging tho because I've felt a little bit like a "failure". I have about 10 started posts that are just waiting to be edited and posted to my blog. Why haven't I finished them and posted them to my blog yet? That whole not being able to stay focused long enough to finish what I start thing that I talked about earlier, yeah thats why. And the fact I have about a million things I'm doing and or wanting to do right now has me stressed out. grrr. But I've decided NO MORE! No more stressing over things I usually enjoy doing. If something doesn't get done, guess what? Its NOT the end of the world :-) What a relief! Theres no time limit (at least not for me) on doing crafts and projects, or still placing things where they belong in the house, or even cleaning. If my basketball sized hair balls flowing in the breeze across my floors dont get vacuumed regularly, I still may freak because thats gross and makes me want to vomit (thank you Dexter for shedding unGodly amounts, even after being ferminated twice a week! AND mom if your reading this, I'll return your ferminator ASAP, I'm sure Dakota is getting ready if not already exploding with hair worse than Dexter!) So I guess maybe there's a time limit on vacuming, but that's ok. My goal in the next month is to finish editing all of my half way there posts and puting them on my blog. So that means, finishing all the things I've started AND NOT STARTING ANYTHING NEW. Focusing on thoughts I have and things I have to say, and expressing them either here or in my little side project I have going (aka brainstorming and attempting to write a book) No moving furniture up 2 flights of stairs or any of that shites.
Also enjoying life more.
I have felt so incredibly busy the first 3 months of this year, I feel like I missed a lot. I need to slow down and feel the rain on my skin :-)
I went to Florida for a long weekend last weekend to see my sister-in-law and the kids. I had so much fun. They live about 10 minutes from Destin. Its awesome and I was so glad I went and can't wait to go back soon! I took a bunch of fun pictures of the kids Ill have to post later :-) When I got home, I opened the garage and waiting right where my car should go was a brand new bike! The hubs suprised me and what an incredible feeling. He was thinking about me while I was gone and got me something I've been wanting for a long while. Watch out neighbors, me and Savannah are gonna be let loose with our bikes in the n'hood (Side note: if you are driving and see me please be wary of me. I havent riden a bike in 10+ years. Im wobbely ok!!)
It has a bottle opener AND a cup holder for my beer soda ;-) Zach knows me so well!
Stay tuned for a new (seriously almost ALMOST done) master bedroom and new (again, seriously almost ALMOST done this time) dinning room! And some funness in between. :-)
Smile a few times today!
(***P.S. friends and family that live near, house warming/just a fun time party coming up soon! We're almost working with presentable material here.***)

Flashing.....Lights
EEEHhhhh maybe not FLASHING lights, but lights non the less.
Im veryslowly carefully working on our office. I have yet to prime the walls, therefore we still only have the chalkboard wall painted. Because I'm lazy still enjoying the lovely blue squares on the wall, I've moved on to a diffrent subject of the office. The light! While painting in there last week I got hot. So I reached up to turn the fan on and realized how incredibly dated and U-G-L-Y the fan in there is. Yuck how had I not noticed that! AAANNNND to make it even better, the fan doesn't work :-( BOOOO. Yup. Its Gotta go.
Talking to Zach about it, he goes "Ok yeah, lets take it down and replace it, BUT I'd still like to keep a fan in there." EEErrrrr ex squeeze me?! See with in 2 seconds of me deciding the fan/light had to go, I knew a fan was NOT going back up and in its place would be some really cool chandelier or light fixture thingy. So VERY NICELY I said "Really baby? Dont you think it would look so much cooooler in there with a cool light fixture instead?" He then replied with " Of course! Thats what I ment to say! I want a cool chandelier in there instead of a practical ceiling fan!"
CHANDELIER IT IS! ;-) I love my husband!!!
Now it just comes down to deciding what exactly to put up there. Now the office is going to have an all around pretty masculine/dark feel to it. I figure a few pops of femininity would be just the ticket. Its no secret I like color, and LOTS of it(hintz the madi gras light in the dinning room) Im pretty sure Zach's head would blow up if I put a nother rainbow/super colorful chandelier in our house. But look at all the prettiness!!
Now, im not completely ruling something out like that, but its not really what im leaning towards at the moment.
Wheew, Zach relaxes.
But check this fun thing out! Its made out of gummy bears! If you've watched iCarly then you've seen this. Savannah tried to tell me she needed me to make that for her. Really? The girls got too much faith in me.
I want something classy and fun hanging in the office. I've still got my eye out at thrift stores and garage sales to see if I can spot something that just needs a little extra love. But here are a few that Im really leaning towards right now.

Because of the theme of the room, another idea that im playing with is putting the mason jar chandelier I've been dying to make up in there. I think it could look pretty cool in there!
or even possibly doing something with wine or glass bottles!
Stay tuned folks, I'll pick a goody ;-)
Spring fever, and a taste of Summer :-)

From Patty to Dora
Am I the only person that doesnt really name their car? Sure I call my car lots of names; the race car, red speed wagon (all jokes on hows its so not fast) but I usually use those names very rarely in joking form. I always knew Zach named his cars (gretta the jetta, patty the caddy) but im finding A LOT of people name their cars. Even my family members do. My dads old maxima now driven by a family member has always been called Goldie. My grandmothers old chevy lumina, also now driven by a diffrent family member, Is respectivly called Hilda, my grandmothers name. At least those names make since though. We have a friend whose explorer is called Esmerelda. Esmerelda? Seriously? I dont get it.
Well we have a new addition to the family. Wefinally regretably got rid of the Patty the Caddy. We were so sad to see her go, more Zach for obvious reason than I. But she was a good car. She was fast, pretty, and a nice luxury. Zach looked good driving her, but I think Zach looks good driving anything :-) Something Im not going to miss? The car payments and it ALWAYS BREAKING. Good ol Patty has been towed 2 times in the past year. She would decide to just stop working while driving down the road, and just some lovely things like that.
So what is Zach driving now? Meet Dora!
This is Dora, Dora the Explora. Shes a lovely 1994 Tan Ford Explorer/Exploder with 54,000 miles. Yes that is the correct mileage. The car was owned by my grandfather and didnt get driven very much. Its a little funny because this was actually my first car. Granted I only drove it for a few months before convincing my lovely father I needed to be driving a 1999 white tiburon"tibby". HEY! I have had a car with a "real name" So after I quit driving the explorer, my dad drove it for a long while. When my dad FINALLY got a new car a few years back, they sold it to my brother. Between my dad and brother that car has been beautifully taken care of and maintained. Its had to have some "tune ups" per say but is in over all pretty descent shape for a 17 year old car (wow!) Granted the speakers are blown and is moody when it comes to playing music out of all the blown speakers at the same time, and one of the door locks has a mind of its own. But its has a new head unit for music that has an aux. port (yay zach can finally listen to the ipod and rhapsody in the car!) Zach got the car up to 80mph lastnight! Granted he said it was like being on the back of a wild beast or untamed animal (80 may or may not be "pushing" it) But all in all Dora is a good car and does the job needed. Zach has had a good since of humor about it all and keeping an open mind. I really appreciate him being so open to this. My car was too new and we were upside down on it to sell my car instead. This little switch-a-roo with the cars will be saving us so much money per month/year. Thats what we are so excited about. (kind of goes hand in hand with the class im taking, Dave Ramsey FPU) Insurance alone is saving us around $75/month, and that just grazes the surface of savings.
One more plus to Dora? She can hall bigger and badder things than my mazda or the caddy could(watch out garage sales and Home Depot!!)

A letter
Dear Previous Homeowners of my now current home,
While I applaud all of your projects that you did in making the house that much more awesome, was it really necessary to use screw anchors on EVERY thing you put in the wall? I appreciate ALL the shelving you left behind, but sadly I dont like the shelving in the places you left it. Therefor I have HUGE holes in all my walls. Why you ask? Here's the thing, I have anger issues when it comes to doing "chores" or little "projects". I get verypissed off upset when Ive taken every screw out of something and it still wont come off the wall. Now, I always try to be very gentle at first. I try to pull ever so slightly, ever so slightly, ever so slightly. When I am not immediatly rewarded with succes is when the anger starts to rise. By the end I have pulled and yanked so hard on what ever is attached to the wall (and of course I dont use any type of profanity in the process! Not me!) that there are holes 3 times the size of the anchor and other random gauges taken out of the wall. Now I'm sure there is a method, or proper way in taking out anchors, but I dont know it! Was there really something so heavy on a shelf that is 2 inches deep? Mustve been the worlds heaviest plate. Next I come to the paint job in our "office". While it is quite the stellar paint job(Savannah was obsessed when she first saw it) it sadly will not go with our decor in the office. Now I know it must have taken you ages to paint that room. What with all the taping off that was required to make aaaallllll those squares. Silly old me thought I would be able to keep the lines from the squares popping through into the new paint job by sanding down all the lines really well. Did that prevent that from happening you ask? NO! It was because each sqaure was a diffrent texture of paint so the newly dried paint dries diffrently on each sqaure. Yes call it a rookie mistake if you will, I call it "im lazier than shite and didn't want to prime the walls first" See I've never been much of a primer.I guess I've never really needed to prime before. I think its a waste of time and have much better things to be doing with my time other than painting a room a billion times. Luckily the only wall I've painted in our office is our chalk board wall and it looks a little cool/ok with the squares popping through. Good thing I thought to wait until that wall was completely dry before starting to paint the other 3 walls, or I would have been uber peeved. Your Blue squares paint job was seriously so cool, I really did love it, just not for our office. But all in all you sold us a really great house, and I really shouldnt be complaining about something so small. You really did no wrong here. You were just being cautious and doing cool paint jobs....it just been more work and effort for me! But again thanks for all the hard work put forth on the house so I can enjoy it :-)
warm regards,
Sam

Lately
Wheeew! Its March already?! Im pretty sure February only lasted 3 days this year, or at least thats what it seemed like. I guess it really is true what they say, Time flies when your having fun(and busy). I added that last part myself. We had so much jam packed into last month its pretty cool. Not only did we have a lot going on, but the whole month was litteraly so fun :-) We had Zachs daughter Savannah down a lot more than normal last month and it was pretty fun. She's such a funny little girl to be around. I love seeing how little minds work, its awesome. My brother and his family moved down to Florida from North Carolina a few weeks ago and we were lucky enough to have them stop here on the way down for a few days! I was so stoked to have them here. Not only do I really love all of them, but I knew it was going to be the last time I got to see my brother before he gets shipped out to South Korea for a year, boooo. He leaves in less than a week, but when your in the military ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Im planning on going down to see my sister-in-law, Cassie, and the kids at the end of this month. I can't wait. They live 10 minutes from the beach. Woo hoo!
So I'm pretty obsessed with garage/yard/moving sales right now (its "spring" so duuhh). I dragged poor Savannah all over Marietta, Roswell, and Woodstock Sunday looking for deals. Sadly we didn't really find anything :-( I was super bummed about it, but hey, its only the start of the sale season, we gots LOTS more time people! But I've also been hitting up all the awesome thrift stores I keep finding around my house. I havent been too lucky yet, but I have found a handful of treasures I needed to bring home. I have a hugely growing list of projects I want or need to do. I managed to tackle a few of them last month and I'm pretty happy with how they came out :-) Take a look
I have a slight obsession with old windows like this. I go this one in Blueridge for like $10 I think (some places charge $40-$60 for these windows...uuummm no thanks) I've also added a few more to my collection from the thrift store around here. I knew I wanted to hang one of these in our powder room after we redo it becaue there is no window in there. So I added a few of my own touches to it (i think it looks better in person than in the pictures but thats just my own thought, it probably just looks awful both ways!)
It's not hung up in the bathroom yet because we havent finished redoing that bathroom yet!
Then we have this beauty. This mirror was my grandmothers and I always kept it up. I honestly never liked it and was thinking about getting rid of it (this was a couple years ago) until my mom said I should paint it. DUH!! Took me awhile but I finally got around to it!
It's white, it's shiney, and I love it now! Its amazing what a few coats of high gloss spray paint can do! Wait until I post the finished product of the chandeleir im redoing for Savannahs bedroom! Free nasty brass thing...to this awesome high gloss pink chandelier! (trying to find shades for it then itll be finished!)
I THINK I know where I want to hang this, but I can't find my bracket to hang it up...errr I haven't really looked for it yet :-/! I BEEN BUSY!
Talk about easy, cheap, and CA-UTE project! I've been making quite a few of these for family and myself, and friends actually. So many options of how you want it to look, pretty cool! I actually really enjoy doing this. depending on the size of the wreath it takes about an hour or so to complete one. Perfect little craft todo while im catching up on my all my shows!

when my parents moved out of their old house they didnt want all their records anymore so I jumped at the chance for them. We have a record player that we can play them on, But I also knew I wanted to one day frame my favorites. Im a cheap person so I looked a long time for the best price on 12.5x12.5 black frames. I was able to get 3/pack for $19.95 at Michaels! AND managed to only shatter one piece of glass in the process, go me!~

I have'nt done much in the kitchen decoration wise, but decided I really wanted something on the doors for a little privacy. I didnt want to do full blown blinds or curtains so I thought this was a nice compromise. I had originally bought the things for this project for the windows in the dinning room, but decided it would look better in the kitchen than in there. It was actually really simple.
Im not too sure what those ring things are called or what they are really even used for (jewelry I think) but they were like 7 bucks a piece from Ikea. The shade I got was a really light weight straw material that I got super cheap from Bed Bath and Beyond. I cut the rods away from the top and bottome, then measured how wide I needed my strips to be and cut that baby up!
bob and weave through the wholes and this is what you get.....
Vwa La! (how do you even spell that?!) I can't decide what to do with the bottom of it to "finish it off" Leave it or do something else, eehh ill figure it out.
Now all I have to do is finish a few more of the things I've started and forgot about. Whether it be rooms or little projects! No rest for me :-)
Off to go prepare my high maintenance dogs their dinners and to meet Zach at our usual joint for dinner myself (I dont feel like cooking tonight!)
