Well, we close on our very first house on the 19th. Im a little bit of every emotion imagineable! Its been a long process and I'd like to say that I'm glad its almost over, but the truth is its just beginning. Owning your very own home is a scary thing. No more calling daddy and mommy dearest (my land lords for the past 2 1/2 years) when something goes wrong or needs to be changed. It all falls on me and Zachs shoulders. I will still undoubtedly still be calling my parents for help when I have no clue on the ins and outs of certain homeownership things. (I already have a list of "projects" ive already
told asked my loving father to help me with!) I get a call from my mom Sunday saying "your sisters garage is flooded and "stuff" is coming up from the toilets. A pipe is busted. Its bad." Almost immediately two thoughts popped in my head: 1) Oh my gosh that sucks so bad for them. I wonder what caused it......(leading into my next thought) 2) OMG!!! I wonder what caused it?! Im about to buy a house! What if that happens to us?! What do I do?! Where do we begin?! AAAHHHHHHH! im not dramatic at aaallll. Luckily they got it fixed and their Home Warranty they have helped cover it. I will for sure be investing in one of those home warranty things! Anyway, after all that, the emotion that still trumps all of the others is excitment! Its our house. No one elses. I dont have to ask permission to paint a wall (or knock down a wall for that fact) I cant wait to put all our personal touches on EVERYTHING! And since I am my fathers daughter, I will be taking on a few projects myself that I would of never thought in a million years I would want to do myself instead of hire someone. Zach still laughs when I tell him Im going to retile the powder room floor and put up backsplash in the kitchen myself. Its a personal goal I have and Im gonna do it and do it right damnit! I cant wait to have all our friends over for a little house warming party :-)

someday a pool table!
Zachs hoping the new laundry room inspires me to do more laundry.
I think it will ;-)
