Just like everyone else I'm hooked, too hooked, on pinterest. Yada Yada its great.
Anyways, I keep coming across these pins that are a solid colored background with a # and a little phrase, sentance, whatever you want to call it.
Like this:
AND this.....
They are always so cute and make me smile :-)
I've been trying to find the original source (not always easy todo with pinterest, especially now that so many people use it) and I finally found it. HERE!
So many of this persons "little things" make me smile and I feel and think the same way. I absolutely love it!
Check out her blog and read some of these. If you can't relate with any of them or some don't make you smile then you need to figure out a way to not be so crotchety and appreciate things more.
But reading a lot of these really makes you realize how much you take for granted. Sure every now and then I stop and smile at something little that I did or saw, but not as much as I should. It just goes to show it really is the little things that can make your day :-)
Could be a good idea to come up with your own "little things" or use some from this blog to put in picture frames and hang somewhere in your house! Zach would just tell me we have enough on the walls. Me? I say you cant have too much and it'd be a great way to make ya smile or find pleasure in, wait for it, little things :-)

Bellatrix
*hodge podge of a post*
Here is a small list of a few of my favorite things that happened in the past month:
A ton more has gone on and happened but when your not typing everything out you forget quite a bit. Ive come to realize that's why I'm going to pick my blogging up again. So I can remember some of the smallest stuff that I'd otherwise forget about.
Something that's been going on that has been not so cool is Zach's dad is in the hospital. With out going into too much detail his dad has been fighting for his life and been in a coma for the past week and a half. It's a hard thing to see this big tuff man laying in this hospital bed fighting with everything he has to get better. And I'll be damned, the man woke up this morning! All of his organs have been slowly getting better. There is a long long road ahead of him, but I'm not sure if the doctors even thought he'd get to this point. I appreciate all of the prayers my friends and family have lifted up for him. God bless Ted Blalock! BUt continued prayer is with out a doubt still very much needed. Thank you.
In the past couple of weeks I've convinced my self that I'm really getting a lot done around the house (whether or not that is a true statement is still up for debate). Im still working on my picture frame wall when you first walk in the house but its coming along. I tell ya pinterest makes me feel very creative if I stay on thatmindsuck website long enough!
Its no House of Smiths but it is a fine start for me :-) (again, sorry bout the cell phone pics)
Above is before I got started. Lie. I had already started but just barely and remembered at this point to take a picture.
It's a start right?! We can at least find all of our food now and not go "Doh'' 5 months after we buy something and its gone bad because it got lost in the shuffle. As my lovely mother so comfortingly put it "It looks like the husband from Sleeping with the Enemy visited your pantry" Great, because thats the house guest I want! I don't think its quite at that level, but for a unorganized gal like myself, its gooood.
Now that everyone is caught up on some of the details of my life the past month, I'll begin ( no really, i've set a few diffrent goals for myself, blogging more being one of them) my regularly scheduled posts :-) I've got a lot in my head and in my house that I'm ready to get out!
Oh and P.S. did you know that my parents are absolutly awesome and amazing?! Well you do now. I love them both so very much. They do so much for me and I'm so lucky and blessed. I wouldn't trade em for a billion dollars!
Here is a small list of a few of my favorite things that happened in the past month:
- Decorating the canoe with my dad for July 4th parade (even though it literally rained on our parade)
- Got my new white iphone 4
- Going to Fort Walton with the family July 6-10 (minus the part were Zach couldn't come)
- Zach let me get ANOTHER kitty! (she's presh, more on her later)
- Zach and our friend Bob cut down a ton of small trees from the front yard
- Saw the last Harry Potter movie
- Back to school shopping with Savannah

pool-ing around
I have it. I have that pool envy, and I have it BAD! Whenever I drive by a house with a pool I immediatly wish I lived there. No matter what the house or pool looks like, that thought goes through my head for at least 2.5 seconds. Ok maybe minus baby pools and those rinky dink blow up ones. Even though I have been trying to talk myself into getting one of those big blow up ones. HAH! A lot of people are very turned off my swimming pools when they are house hunting, but it was a definate plus if a house had a pool for us. We came pretty close to buying a house with a pool but lost it :-( Oh well. Not only would I love it but so would Savannah. And the rest of my family for that matter. I dream of having one of these in my backyard.
But I realize something thats got this much going on is probably out of our possibilities, price wise. I mean Im definetly not looking for an indoor pool or a pool on top of my house, just something pretty that I can cool off and play in!
Another total plus that would be awsome to have in a pool? A swim up bar. Would just love to have something like that.
one of these last 2 pools would be quite perfect for me if I do say so myself :-)

Hot Diggity
Just saw H&M offers a home section. I got so excited I actually squeeled. THEN I realized it isnt available in the US...yet. H&M home has to be made available here, and like yesterday! Even in pounds you can tell this shiz is affordable.
they have great pillows and throws. Not too much on the random decorations end but maybe that part will grow and expand. Either way, I hope this becomes available in the states soon :-)

Fail
I fail at blogging! Life has gotten in the way of my joys lately. With a sick dog taking up 100% of my free time, that doesn't leave much of me for anything else. I havent even been to Zach and I's usual place for even a drink in like 2 weeks probably (umm we usually are there 3-5 times a week, have been known a time or 2 to go there every night for a week straight) And with family in town right now and Dexter geting ever so slightly, so slightly, better (keep fingers crossed, thanks) I been hanging out with them when I'm not at work. Thats the other thing. Work has been so stupid busy lately I really don't feel like doing much anyways when I get home. Pretty sure I have officialy developed carpal tunnel in my left hand/arm/wrist from all the typing. Going to the Dr soon for that one, but it's ok. Pays the bills. I thought I'd log in and dust the cobwebs off the blog and post something. Anything. Well my mama sent me this email earlier that had me laughing pretty hard. Hope someone else finds it as funny as I did.
Will be back with regularly scheduled blogging soon. Thanks and come again :-)

Twas the day of catching up
(warning. may have included 10 too many photos in this post :-) enjoy!)
I still don't know how people blog full time. This is a serious business that I would of fired myself from if full time blogging were the case for me.
We had an incident last night. Ended up at the animal emergency room at almost midnight. Poor Dexter. I told him I was going to throw the frisbee for him ONE MORE TIME! Of course he then stepped on something and got a one inch puncture in his paw. In between the pads. Painful looking stuff, I promise. There was so much blood it looks like we killed someone on our screened porch. Obviously we didn't, that would just be weird. I thought about putting a picture of all the blood up, but decided I should spare everyone.
My little beast is rocking bright green bandages. I have to tie a plastic grocery bag around his foot everytime he goes outside. For a dog with symptoms that rival IBS and Crohns, he goes out a lot. Dexter is doing pretty good though. He's on a higher dosage of his meds for his fistulas, and has gained almost 8 pounds in the last month in a half or so :-) He's above 70 pounds now Woo hoo! almost 75! Heading in the right direction. I promised Dexter lastnight though that I'd let him keep his family jewels a little bit longer since the month of May just didn't agree with him (little does he know as soon as his fistulas get a bit better, its chop chop. Too much?)
Haven't done much of anything to be considered crafty lately. Honestly I've been busy, and lets not forget lazy :-) We decided to have a little BBQ at the house last monday for Zachs last birthday in his 20's! That kick my into gear slightly in terms of the screen porch. I did finish painting the floor and hung up all my chinese lanterns. I spray painted our black iron table and chairs bright yellow, but thats going to be moving back out to the patio and soon as work on the hanging daybed is complete. Somehow I talked my dad into helping me build one.
I was able to score this pretty sweet fabric from Hancock. It has all the right colors and look that I was going for. It's laminated cloth so it should hold up pretty well with getting a little wet when rain gets on the screen porch. My inspiration for what I'm doing out there? Have a quick looksy....
TaaaDaaa. I know it looks oddly out of place right there, but when I'm done with the whole area it will look much better. I think. I hope!
And the dining room is seriously almost done now. Im just lacking some curtains and one more bench. Got some new chairs for the ends of the table and they are FAB-O!! Oh yes.
Twas love at first sight. Matches the chandilier very well also! I just need something REALLY simple, not a lot going on color or pattern wise, for the curtains. Hmmmmm.
Please ignore the messy table and the still there lurking in the room stripped chairs! And that window with the picture strips on it. Haven't decided where to put that yet.
Will post more complete pictures of the dinning room when its just that, complete!
Mothers day was so much fun. We sat over at my parents house all day down by the lake. Would of been a 100% perfect day if Zach and Savannah could of been there. But I still enjoyed it oh so much.
I dont get to see my sister and her family as much as I would like to so spending time with them was so so awesome.
rare moments where I'm actually in the picture.

| More on what these guys did HERE! |
My mama got me something wanted for mothers day. She never disappoints :-) I've wanted a piece of mirrored furniture for ever, but would never come up off my wallet for ANY piece, too pricey for me. But what did my mom surprise me with you ask?

A million miles an hour
Thats how fast my mind is currently spinning with ideas for the house. I honestly don't even remember half of my drive home because I was thinking about so many different things. Sad, but true. Im so excited! I thought I had lost that will, that drive, to do things around the house. But no! It's back. I guess I've just been down in a little slump lately so my creative juices haven't really been flowing. But a little looking around on pinterest and rearranging my living room Sunday was just what I needed :-)
I came up with 2 different "To Do" lists for the house. One list can be classified as a weekend project or less. Ya know painting something or making something. Not huge projects or anything that is going to cost much $$$! The other list is things that a lot of people could very well do in a weekend, but lets not lie, Zach and I usually take a little longer for certain things. Also this list consists of things that will cost slightly more $$$. Saving up for type of projects. I'm a very "I want now!" type of person. Very immpatient. I usually figure out a way to get or do what I have in my mind. Not in a snotty way, just a determined way.
One of the first things I'm going to do is organize our pantry. Savannah can NEVER find anything in the pantry. Its half her putting no real effort in looking and half it being that big of a mess. Needless to say it's a cluster F right now and I love how nice and neat these ones are that I found on pinterest.
AND painting our table and chairs like this bright yellow. I'm thinking YES!!
maybe bright yellow patio furniture will take the focus off oursnake pit jungle lush back yard! At least I've killed most of the poison ivy. Go me.
Zach's birthday is Monday and I want to have people over for a BBQ to celebrate. I was given some very good advise by a friend on Friday about getting stuff done around the house. I kept saying I never had a party because there was always so much to! He said plan a party and that will light a fire under your ass to get things done! (THANKS Brian) That's totally what I need in order to get stuff moving. NO huge improvements between now and the BBQ (if it goes down) but enough to get me rolling in the right direction. Possibly middle of June or July a bigger fiesta and bigger projects completed.? Maybe.
So heres to getting stuff done and hopefully being able to shut my mind off and fall asleep at a decent hour tonight :-)

Pinterest....ing
So, is anyone else as obsessed with pinterest as I am? I am hooked. It's been about a month and I think its just about the coolest thing since sliced bread. No? People aren't still saying that? OH well. Im getting so much insperation just looking at other peoples pins.
If you dont know what it is, you should check it out. Its a website that allows you to "pin" pictures as you find them on the internet. It saves them to your "boards" on the website and you can go back and look at what you've saved anytime. Like me, im always trying to remember where I saw a picture, or I save it to a computer and email it to myself but then quickly forget about it. You can also browse the thousands of pictures people have already pinned on pinterest and you can pin them to your personal boards!
Only downside, you have to request an invitation to the page, but it usually only takes a couple of days :-)
I picked up some paint samples this weekend to do this to one of our dressers. If i'd not joined pinterest I would of never seen this cool idea!
