YES. That was a reference to Billy Idol- White Wedding. NO this is not a post about Billy Idol or music for that matter. Speaking of white wedding, I didnt even wear a white dress at my wedding. My dress was Blush :-) It was amazing, but I digress. Anyways.... They say kitchens are the heart of the home. I dont know one person that doesnt want some amazing kitchen, amazing can mean something very diffrent to each person, but amazing non the less. We knew we were going to have to redo our new kitchen one day, but we were excited about that. Now dont get me wrong, we arent ready to tackle that project just yet, but it still fills me with excitement to look at pictures of kitchens and get ideas for our "dream" kitchen one day.
Something I used to be totally against was white cabinets. I mean if your gonna redo all your cabinets, why make them white? That seemed so boring. As ive gotten older I came to realize that white cabinets are actually kind of nice. Ill never be that person who has an everythings white house. Im to dirty, I have dogs, kids running around, and I just plain need more color in my life (side note: nothing wrong with everythings white kind of house, I actually love it, just not for me) I feel like having white cabinets leaves you with more possibilities for counter tops, backsplashes, accessories, ect. Heres a few I like the ideas of.
Another trend that seems to be growing on me are the colored wood cabinets(like the island in the middle picture). I used to say NO WAY, stick to natural wood colors, but my way of thinking has for sure changed! The more I see those types of cabinets, the more I can really picture something like that in my kitchen. Whether its the island or all of the cabinets, I think it looks fabo!
AND if you can't tell I have a little bit of island envy. Ive wanted a great big one for a while so the new kitchen will have to have one. Its ok to dream big :-)
