Where has all the time gone?! Is it seriously Decmeber 2nd already? When did this happen?
anywho...
A LOT has been going on lately. We closed on our house on the 19th and have slowly been moving things over to the new house. My little mazda hatchback holds a lot more than you might think! We are finally moving in this weekend. Im so excited I cant stand it. The fence guy will be finishing up the fence tomorrow morning so we can bring the dogs over. My brain has been going a million miles an hour with ideas that I can not wait to do. Ive been painting and picking out paint colors (leaving all the taping off to my wonderful hubby of course) and putting together new furniture the past few weeks. Yesterday I got this craving, yes craving not an urge, to go to Ikea. Knowing my hard working hubby didnt get off until late I called my wonderful parents to see if they wanted to go. When my mom answered the phone I could immediatly tell she was NOT happy, at all, but was trying to do that thing where you play it off and act like everythings fine. I knew right away what was wrong (back story in a nutshell: Mom was P-I-S-S-E-D off that that dad wouldnt let her get a real live christmas tree this year and she said she wasnt putting any decorations up this year because of it. It seemed like my dad wasnt really budging on the idea, or so I thought) My mom said no and said my dad couldnt go because he had to help her put up christmas decorations tonight. We end our phone call and 30 minutes later my phone rings "home" again I answer. Say " you wanna go to ikea?" my mom goes "no, but your dad does" Clearly still not a happy camper. Im guessing in that 30 minute time frame the whole christmas tree thing got brought up again and re-pissed her off. I get to my parents house after work to pick my dad up, ask my mom one more time if she wants to go,no, and we jump in the car. Before we even get out of the driveway I tell my dad of my brilliant new idea. Instead of going to Ikea lets go to home depot, get a tree and come home and suprise mom with it. After 5 or so mintues of my "pleading my case"as to why we needed to, we pull in the home depot parking lot. We got the most beautiful noble fur christmas tree, tied it to the top of the car (and of course my father had to show the guy helping how to tie a proper christmas tree to the top of the car knot, typical) and headed home. I pulled in the drive way honking my horn and flashing the lights. My mom comes out shocked. I loved the moment she realized we had got a her a tree. Loved it! Put the tree up and it looks perfect in their den.
The night ended on a great note with me and my dad going to garden ridge to get me an early Christmas presnet (nice big 8x10 rug!)
Such a great week this is turning into. WOOHOO so excited for the weekend.
